When we use the imperative form?
We use imperative to express some orders, advises, recommends, etc. in sentences without subject.
When we use imperative in negative we need the particle DO NOT or DON'T.
- Come here.
- Beware of the dog.
- Beware of luggage.
- Open.
- Close.
- Caution wet floor.
- Out of service.
- For sale.
- For rent.
- Please, do not disturb.
- Please, do not walk on the grass.
- No smoking.
- Staff wanted.
- Parking prohibited at all times.
- Silence.
- Take your pyjama.
- Come here.
- Stay where you are.
- Walk down the street.
- Try to be on time.
- Don't walk.
- Don't get on my nerves.
- Don't laugh at your teacher.
- Don't tell him lies.
- Don't let her alone.
