Spend
to pass (time) in a specific way, activity,
place, etc. (= use up). Sacrifice. To pay out (money, wealth, etc.).
e.g. Spent their holidays in Lisbon; spent
an hour exercising.
Stay
to continue to be in a place or condition. A
brief period of residence or visiting.
e.g. Stay home; stay calm.
